Books by Series - Reading the American Landscape
Series Editor(s): Lake Douglas
The Reading the American Landscape series invites works on both the practical applications and the cultural significance of landscape design in the United States, past, present, and future. It seeks to publish books from both established and emerging scholars about the intersection of landscape subjects with other disciplines in the natural and social sciences, arts, and humanities. Appropriate works may take multiple forms, from examinations of physical places and environmental engagements to investigations of social attitudes and human activities.
Series Editor Lake Douglas has degrees in landscape architecture from LSU and Harvard and a PhD from the University of New Orleans in urban history/urban studies. He is professor emeritus at LSU’s Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture and Fellow, American Society of Landscape Architects. He has published widely in books as well as articles, reviews, and design critiques in popular, professional, and academic journals in America and Europe, and his writings have been recognized with numerous professional and academic awards.
